The aim of the course is to give knowledge about the inorganic binding materials-air and hydraulic hardening, their properties, production and application in the construction, techniques and life.
The raw materials, which are used for the production of portland cement clinker with defined phase composition, the preparation of the raw material mixture, it sintering by different methods- wet, dry, semi-dry and semi-wet and the milling of the clinker for portland cement production are discussed.
The physical chemistry fundaments of the clinker formations and the processes of binding and hardening, which take place as a result of the hydration by the mixing of cement and water and the modern methods for regulation of the hydration to obtain stone like cement with high strength, high resistance of cold, water and corrosion resistance are presented. The building-technical properties of the portland cement, the different types of portland cements and their application for production of heavy and light concrete, heat and sound isolation materials are discussed.
